Dicta-Sign Lexicon
Dicta-Sign Lexicon is a multilingual lexicon for BSLBritish Sign Language, GSLGreek Sign Language, DGSGerman Sign Language, LSFFrench Sign Language, English, Greek, German and French. Approximately 1000 concepts are provided for each of the project SLssign languages. The shared list of concepts chosen for the lexicon is of everyday use or specifically related to the field of European travel. The lexicon provides recordings of each sign for each language, annotation with gloss labels, form description (HamNoSys) and a rough meaning. Dicta-Sign was a three-years project from the European's seventh framework programme. The consortium conducting the project consisted of eight partners: Institute for Language and Speech Processing, University of Hamburg, University of East Anglia, University of Surrey, Laboratoire d'informatique pour la mécanique et les sciences de l'ingénieur (Limsi), Université Paul Sabatier, National Technical University of Athens, WebSourd.
The project also created the Dicta-Sign Corpus, training data for isolated signs and elicitation material for corpus collections.
